For this issue, we invite Shawn Chien, Founder of TTOO Studio. Shawn is known for extending spatial design into holistic visual and brand integration, creating environments that support long-term brand identity and growth. With years of experience living with pets, he firmly believes that allowing space to genuinely respond to everyday life is the most essential aspect of meaningful design.
“A pet’s place is no longer an added arrangement.”
Shawn : “When choosing furniture, I usually look at just three things－ lines, proportions, and whether it can remain in a space over time.”
For him, PAMITIE’s co-living furniture collection is exactly the kind of work he would include in a design proposal. “It doesn’t speak unnecessarily.” Its irregular, egg-like silhouette gently softens the space, creating presence without demanding attention.
Taking The Hatch as an example, when used as a side table or coffee table, its presence remains quiet and restrained. Beneath the surface, a hollowed space reserved for cats and small dogs ensures that a pet’s place is no longer an added feature, but an integral part of the structure.
This is precisely the kind of design Shawn values where function is absorbed into form, rather than explicitly pointed out.
He also highlights that PAMITIE’s co-living furniture collection is 100% designed and manufactured in Taiwan, and co-developed with S2 Studio, a bamboo craftsmanship studio recognized with the 2024 Japan Good Design Award. This collaboration ensures a strong coherence between design language and production craftsmanship.
Rounded edges, concealed hardware, and structural safety are details not meant to be noticed. Instead, they exist so that users can move through daily life without having to think twice.
